We mapped every garden wedding venue in America — 2,699 venues with 1,532,878 reviews between them. Here's where the gardens actually are, which states have the most venues per resident, what venues say their packages cost, and how big the biggest garden venues really get. The Garden Wedding Cost Index
What does a garden wedding venue actually cost? We collected the package and rental prices venues state on their own websites — 187 venues so far — and computed the median by state. Nationally the median stated package price is $1,500. The priciest state with enough data to publish is Texas at a median $3,000; the most affordable is Michigan at $600. These are the venues' own stated prices, not estimates — always confirm current pricing with the venue.

Which states have the most garden wedding venues per capita?
Nationally there are about 7.9 garden wedding venues per million residents. The per-capita crown goes to Vermont at 17 venues per million — 11 venues for a state of 0.6 million people — with Utah at 14.6 and Washington at 14.5 close behind. Garden venues follow climate and horticulture more than raw population: the states with long growing seasons, botanical-garden traditions, and grand estate grounds keep the most garden venues in bloom per resident. At the other end, New Mexico has just 1.9 per million.

The list looks nothing like a normal "most of X" city ranking — garden venues cluster where the horticulture is, around towns and small cities with botanical gardens, arboretums, and estate grounds rather than only the biggest metros. The biggest garden venues in America
Of the venues that state a guest capacity on their own website (339 so far), the median garden venue holds 200 guests (average 201). At the top end, the biggest stated capacity in the directory is 750 guests at Bickelhaupt Arboretum in Clinton, IA. Capacity is always the venue's own stated number — confirm with the venue when you tour.
