US Cities With the Fewest Garden Wedding Venues (2026)

The flip side of the garden wedding capitals: big American cities with barely a garden venue inside the city limits. These are the 30 most populous US cities (100,000+ residents) with zero or one garden venue in our 2,699-venue national directory — 10.0 million people between them. In this niche that's expected — most garden venues sit in the towns and suburbs ringing the metro, not inside the dense core — but it tells you exactly which metros' couples are driving the farthest for their day. The list

Top of the table: Boston, Massachusetts — 673,458 people, no garden venue inside city limits. The biggest city with none at all is Boston, Massachusetts (673,458 residents — 18 of the 30 cities are at zero). If you live in one of these cities, your garden wedding is a drive into the greener towns nearby — start from your state page and look at the small towns ringing the metro.

Read it fairly: counts are within city limits, and garden venues cluster in the towns and suburbs outside them. A zero here doesn't mean the metro has no garden weddings — it means every one of them happens in the smaller towns outside the line.

Methodology: venue counts from our continuously maintained national directory of 2,699 garden wedding venues (public business listings, filtered to genuine wedding-capable venues). City universe = incorporated places and consolidated city-governments with 100,000+ residents, US Census 2024 estimates; census names normalized to everyday names (Nashville-Davidson → Nashville) so no city is falsely flagged. Venues are matched to cities by the city name on their address. Refreshed with each re-crawl — cities graduate off this list when a venue opens. Browse what nearby markets look like instead: venues by state, or the full stats hub.
