How far ahead should we book a garden wedding venue?

Botanical gardens and popular estate gardens book their peak Saturdays — roughly April through October, when everything is in bloom — a year or more out, so if your heart is set on a specific garden and a specific date, start touring 12–18 months ahead. The good news: Fridays, Sundays, and shoulder-season dates open up much sooner and often cost less. Shortlist three or four venues here, then book tours for the same weekend so you can compare them while each garden is fresh in your mind.

What does a garden wedding venue cost?

It genuinely ranges from a few hundred dollars for a public-garden ceremony permit to five figures for a full estate package — it depends on the region, the day of the week, and what's included (tables and chairs, coordination, catering, lodging). We never guess at prices: where a venue states package pricing on its own site, or couples mention what they paid in reviews, the listing shows it as "packages mentioned around $N — confirm with the venue." Always confirm — garden venues quote seasonally, and peak-bloom Saturdays cost the most.

What if it rains on an outdoor garden wedding?

This is the single most important question to ask any garden venue, and we surface it everywhere. How many guests can a garden venue hold?

Anywhere from a two-person elopement to 300+, which is why the capacity row on each listing matters. 445 venues here state their guest capacity on their own site — the listing shows it as "Hosts up to N guests," and where couples mention their own headcounts in reviews, you'll see that too. Planning something tiny? 690 venues welcome elopements and micro-weddings — look for the "Elopements" badge.

Can we bring our own caterer?

Sometimes — and it's one of the biggest budget levers in wedding planning, so ask early. Some gardens run their own kitchen and bar (often lovely, always simpler), others hand you a preferred-vendor list, and some let you bring anyone from a food truck to your favorite local caterer. 185 venues here are confirmed to allow outside catering — marked with the "Outside catering OK" badge, proven from the venue's own site or couples' reviews, not a guess.

What does "all-inclusive" actually include?

Usually the venue plus most of the moving parts: tables, chairs, linens, setup and teardown, and often catering, bar, and a day-of coordinator — one contract, one bill, far fewer vendor calls. By what couples actually say: rating weighted by review count, so a 4.8 with 400 reviews outranks a lone 5.0. The data comes from public listings, the venues' own websites, and couples' reviews — no venue pays for placement, and no venue can buy a badge. Every listing here has passed a garden check: we only include venues we can confirm actually host weddings among real gardens or greenery.
