From the reviews

We checked out multiple venues in DC, but none captured the vision we had for our October 19, 2019 wedding like the Josephine Butler Parks Center. The space is beautiful enough to not need too much decoration but simple enough to be a blank canvas if you wanted to go big.

We got married here and had an amazing time! If you are looking for a venue that has elegance and character (as opposed to a boring ballroom) then go no further! The staff are all very professional and the center’s mission is incredible.

★★★★★ — Matthew, Sep 2024

I had my wedding here in September of 2014 and it was absolutely perfect! The space is gorgeous and we knew the venue was for us the moment we saw it. We had just under 150 people and the space was perfect. Dinner was a little cramped, but other than that the space was perfect.

I’ve photographed several weddings at the PARKS CENTER. Every time, the venue is well organized, plenty of room for vendors, and the guest seem to really enjoy the multi-level space. You also won’t be able to beat the access to one of the largest (and best) parks in DC.

Getting married at Josephine Butler Parks Center

Josephine Butler Parks Center comes up for weddings — confirmed on their own site. Two things make the tour worth it. First, see the garden at the time of day and season you'd actually get married — a garden that glows at golden hour in June can look very different at noon in March, so ask what's in bloom for your date and walk the path your guests take from parking to ceremony to reception. Second, bring your real questions: the rain plan (where does the ceremony move, and does it hold everyone?), shade and bugs for a summer afternoon, the catering and bar policy, the music curfew, and exactly what's included — tables, chairs, setup, and teardown are where quotes quietly diverge. Popular garden dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.

Corporate events & private parties at Josephine Butler Parks Center

Reviews and the venue's own info mention corporate events, retreats, or private parties at Josephine Butler Parks Center — garden venues often have real weekday availability since weddings claim the weekends. A quick call answers the three things that matter: weekday and off-season rates, whether the space works for your headcount and A/V needs, and what catering is allowed. If your event lands on a Friday or Saturday in wedding season, ask early.
