As a wedding photographer who commonly works on Whidbey Island and around the San Juan Islands, I have seen and experienced a lot of wedding venue operations. And Fireseed Catering... I want to thank you and your staff for a truly awesome day.
How do I even write something that does this wonderful place justice! We got married in July of 2023 and I truly wish I could relive the day over and over again. Dave, Dawn, and Anna are kind and relaxed but super organized and know exactly how to run a wedding.
Fireseed Catering truly went above and beyond for our wedding day. The communication was impeccable right from the start—Dave and Dawn were always prompt, clear, and incredibly organized, which put our minds at ease throughout the entire process.
My husband and I had our wedding at Fireseed in September 2018. We searched the entirety of Whidbey Island for the perfect venue and could not have been more thrilled our experience at Fireseed. The grounds are immaculate and the coordination throughout the year as well as the day-of was absolutely flawless.
Getting married at Fireseed Catering
Fireseed Catering comes up for weddings — confirmed on their own site. Two things make the tour worth it. First, see the garden at the time of day and season you'd actually get married — a garden that glows at golden hour in June can look very different at noon in March, so ask what's in bloom for your date and walk the path your guests take from parking to ceremony to reception. Second, bring your real questions: the rain plan (where does the ceremony move, and does it hold everyone?), shade and bugs for a summer afternoon, the catering and bar policy, the music curfew, and exactly what's included — tables, chairs, setup, and teardown are where quotes quietly diverge. Popular garden dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
