From the reviews
From the first time I toured The Homestead 1854, I knew I had to get married there. The grounds are gorgeous, the owners and staff are helpful and kind, and so much is included with your rental of the venue. I was sitting at dinner and could not believe I got the wedding of my dreams.
As a wedding photographer, I’ve worked at many venues, and 1854 Homestead truly stands out. This charming, preserved homestead is ideal for small to medium weddings, comfortably hosting around 100 guests.
One year ago today, my now husband and I set foot on the property of The Homestead 1854. At the time we had never heard of the venue, but were impressed with what we had read about it online… little did we know at the time, it would be THE most perfect place for our wedding.
My wife and I got married here in June of 2023. Mary Kay and the team here helped us with all aspects of planning. They are very professional, understanding, flexible, and have great taste! We received many compliments from our guests on the venue as well.
Getting married at The Homestead 1854
The Homestead 1854 comes up for weddings — confirmed on their own site. Two things make the tour worth it. First, see the garden at the time of day and season you'd actually get married — a garden that glows at golden hour in June can look very different at noon in March, so ask what's in bloom for your date and walk the path your guests take from parking to ceremony to reception. Second, bring your real questions: the rain plan (where does the ceremony move, and does it hold everyone?), shade and bugs for a summer afternoon, the catering and bar policy, the music curfew, and exactly what's included — tables, chairs, setup, and teardown are where quotes quietly diverge. Popular garden dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
