From the reviews
This is a great little garden that doesn’t get a lot of foot traffic. It’s usually empty and great place to get away from the crowds. It’s near a lot of the main attractions on this side of the park - Botanical Garden, Japanese Tea Garden, Music Concourse, de Young and Academy of Science.
I love this spot for some quiet time or an intimate wedding. It’s situated right behind the Academy of Sciences and often gets overlooked. It’s gated and serene, and I’ve officiated many beautiful weddings here.
Hidden behind leafy fencing, the Shakespeare Garden in Golden Gate Park offers a quiet, romantic spot for a wedding in the heart of San Francisco. Step through the lovely iron gates, and you’ll find yourself on a dreamy path, perfect for beginning your own story of love and commitment.
Lovely little garden with a good cared loans and alley and peaceful atmosphere. Good for the wedding as well as for just enjoying reading a book .
Getting married at Shakespeare Garden
Shakespeare Garden comes up for weddings — confirmed on their own site. Two things make the tour worth it. First, see the garden at the time of day and season you'd actually get married — a garden that glows at golden hour in June can look very different at noon in March, so ask what's in bloom for your date and walk the path your guests take from parking to ceremony to reception. Second, bring your real questions: the rain plan (where does the ceremony move, and does it hold everyone?), shade and bugs for a summer afternoon, the catering and bar policy, the music curfew, and exactly what's included — tables, chairs, setup, and teardown are where quotes quietly diverge. Popular garden dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
