From the reviews
An amazing place of history. Dinner, Dancing and Dashikis event that celebrated African culture and heritage was awesome. We thank Franklin's Fruit Tea for this HBCU fundraiser and the Oakland's for the venue. It was truly epic!
This will be the third year I’ve worked on an event with Oakland Mansion and every year they never cease to amaze me. The head of house coordinators are consistently quick and clear with communication, and always willing to be flexible when problems inevitably arise.
For years Oakland Mansion has hosted high quality events at their beautiful venue. The staff is always professional and kind. James Manning has also taken great care to tell the history of the site and brought forth the stories and voices of the enslaved persons who lived there.
Photographed a short wedding here and loved it! Staff was super helpful giving us access to the mansion and other locations on the property. Beautiful grounds and great shade! Would love to shoot here anytime in the future!
Getting married at Oaklands Mansion
Oaklands Mansion comes up for weddings — confirmed on their own site. Two things make the tour worth it. First, see the garden at the time of day and season you'd actually get married — a garden that glows at golden hour in June can look very different at noon in March, so ask what's in bloom for your date and walk the path your guests take from parking to ceremony to reception. Second, bring your real questions: the rain plan (where does the ceremony move, and does it hold everyone?), shade and bugs for a summer afternoon, the catering and bar policy, the music curfew, and exactly what's included — tables, chairs, setup, and teardown are where quotes quietly diverge. Popular garden dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
