The setting
“Giant, ten-foot-tall, perfectly sculpted hedges create an architectural structure that helps define a series of "rooms" within the garden, each with its own inspiring style.”
Amenities couples mention
“While the restrooms were clean and the lawns well-maintained, the addition of handrails, more garbage pails, and a drinking water fountain would enhance the visitor experience.”
What couples say again and again
“Although we could not tour the inside of the house, which dates back to the 18th century and is built in the Georgian style, we had ample time to explore the stunning garden.”
From the reviews
On a sunny Tuesday morning, I had the pleasure of visiting Hollister House Garden, a trip organized by Old Westbury Gardens. We departed from Old Westbury Gardens at about 8 o’clock, and despite the morning traffic, we arrived at our destination in approximately two hours.
Getting married at Hollister House Garden
Hollister House Garden comes up for weddings — confirmed on their own site. Two things make the tour worth it. First, see the garden at the time of day and season you'd actually get married — a garden that glows at golden hour in June can look very different at noon in March, so ask what's in bloom for your date and walk the path your guests take from parking to ceremony to reception. Second, bring your real questions: the rain plan (where does the ceremony move, and does it hold everyone?), shade and bugs for a summer afternoon, the catering and bar policy, the music curfew, and exactly what's included — tables, chairs, setup, and teardown are where quotes quietly diverge. Popular garden dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
