From the reviews
Nice gardens. wonderful scenery. parking is free but limited. we went there on weekdays so it wasn't busy. very instragamble backdrops. seen many couples taking wedding/pre-wedding pictures there. once can reserve the place to do it in advance and get to take pictures inside the Manson as well.
The mansion was built in 1928 by oil tycoon Edward L. Doheny as a wedding gift for his son, Ned Doheny. At the time, the Doheny family was one of the richest families in California because of the oil boom. The estate cost over $3 million to build in the 1920s.
Gorgeous views of LA and of the estate, including its gardens. Free to visit. Weekdays might be better time to visit if possible, as sometimes there are weddings or similar private events on weekends.
We had the opportunity of capturing an engagement session at this beautiful location! The permit process was absolutely seamless and the staff over the phone were able to answer our questions with great detail!
Getting married at Greystone Mansion & Gardens: The Doheny Estate
Greystone Mansion & Gardens: The Doheny Estate comes up for weddings — confirmed on their own site. Two things make the tour worth it. First, see the garden at the time of day and season you'd actually get married — a garden that glows at golden hour in June can look very different at noon in March, so ask what's in bloom for your date and walk the path your guests take from parking to ceremony to reception. Second, bring your real questions: the rain plan (where does the ceremony move, and does it hold everyone?), shade and bugs for a summer afternoon, the catering and bar policy, the music curfew, and exactly what's included — tables, chairs, setup, and teardown are where quotes quietly diverge. Popular garden dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
