This place has charm out the wazoo. Booked the king suite with my wife for Valentine's Day and we loved it. It's a little cold if you forget to turn on the space heater, but it was magnificent. The bed was comfy, the amenities are great, and we got to enjoy a game of pool in the lounge area.
I had my wedding scheduled for next year. Due to unforeseen circumstances, I have canceled my wedding. I was refunded my deposit immediately and not coaxed to wait on it. Jennifer was so amazing showing us the venue in the first place. It solidified that we wanted the Blackwell hotel.
Overall a really good experience and we both agree that we would come back. The house is so cool (over 100 years old), however the decor doesn’t really fit the home. That might seem like a silly note, but it stuck out to me.
Beautiful historic home renovated into bed and breakfast. Walkable to all of downtown Coeur d'Alene. Easy access to town parks 🥾, marina ⛵, and 🏖️ beach. Rooms feature antique clawfoot tubs most with shower. There are multiple fireplaces, a pool table, a media room downstairs with sauna and shuffleboard.
Getting married at Blackwell Hotel
Blackwell Hotel comes up for weddings — confirmed on their own site. Two things make the tour worth it. First, see the garden at the time of day and season you'd actually get married — a garden that glows at golden hour in June can look very different at noon in March, so ask what's in bloom for your date and walk the path your guests take from parking to ceremony to reception. Second, bring your real questions: the rain plan (where does the ceremony move, and does it hold everyone?), shade and bugs for a summer afternoon, the catering and bar policy, the music curfew, and exactly what's included — tables, chairs, setup, and teardown are where quotes quietly diverge. Popular garden dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
